ROBERT SURCOUF. 1773-1827. French sailor and privateer, he raced against the English in the Indian Ocean, then settled as a shipowner in Saint-Malo. Autograph letter signed "Robert Surcouf", to Monsieur Rouillard at the Poudre d'or, 2 pages in-4; January 17, 1812.
